Juliet's Flashback - The Beach
Juliet sits on the beach, watching the waves. She gets up and goes down a long, cold-looking hallway, carrying a pocket book. Ethan Rom passes the other way and says hello.She goes into a room and turns off a record player. She sits down next to a sleeping woman who has a scarf on her head and watches her for a moment. Then she opens the pocket book and prepares by opening a Bandaid and filling a syringe.
The woman wakes up and says, "Oh, I fell asleep."
"With candles burning," Juliet says, "that's real safe."
The woman sits up and turns on the light.
"We don't have to keep doing this, you know," Juliet says.
"Are you saying that 'cause you don't think it's going to work, or because you're afraid he'll find out?"
"Lift up your shirt," Juliet says. She cleans a spot on the woman's stomach and inserts the needle. The woman lets out a little cry of pain.
"Okay," Juliet says and pulls the needle out and grabs the Bandaid.
"Some doctor you are," the woman says.
"I'm not doing this as your doctor, I'm doing it as your sister. I don't like you being here alone. Come stay with me."
"I like being on the beach."
"This is Miami, Rachel, everything's on the beach." She opens the curtains to reveal the city as an airplane flies in.
Surgery and Escape
Juliet listens to the beeping of the machines hooked to Ben while Jack talks to Kate in Tom's walkie-talkie."You have about an hour head start before they come after you. Take the walkie, take Sawyer, go," Jack says.
Kate comes over the walkie-talkie, "Jack, where are you?"
"Kate, listen to me, just listen to me! You remember what I told you on the beach? Do you remember what story I told you while you were stitching me up. Do you remember it?"
Kate is in the cage in the rain talking into the walkie. "Yes, yes, I remember."
"When you get safe, you radio me and you tell me that story."
"Jack, please."
"If I don't get a call from you in the next hour I'm going to know something went wrong and he dies!"
"Jack, I can't leave without you."
"Yes you are, go!"
"I can't!"
"Kate go!"
"I can't!"
"Kate, damn it run!"
Pickett turns to look at Kate and Sawyer punches him. Jason has a gun to Kate, but when Sawyer punches Pickett, she knocks the gun out of Jason's hand and elbows him. He falls to the ground.
In the operating room, Tom says, "Juliet, stop the bleeding and stitch him up."
"She's not a surgeon, she can't fix this," Jack says.
Juliet pulls off her mask and says, "He's right."
Back at the cages, Sawyer hits Pickett in the nose. He continues to punch and kick him. Pickett falls to the ground and Kate says, "Let's go."
Sawyer hits Pickett's head against the shock button in the cage three times, until he receives a shock and begins to convulse. Kate and Sawyer lock Pickett and Jason in the cage and run.
In the operating room, Tom says, "Then what the hell do you suggest we do?"
Juliet looks to a man and says, "Go get Danny, then find Austen and Ford and bring them back."
"No, you do that and Ben dies," Jack says.
"Go," Juliet says.
Jack says, "You think I'm lying? You think this is a bluff? I will let him die!"
"No, Jack, you won't," Juliet says. "Go, get them back. If you have to," she looks at Jack, "kill them."
