Episode 3x4, Every Man For Himself - Flashback Scene 3

Munson wants to talk to him and Sawyer goes down the hall with him. He says, "You were right. I loved her. I thought she-"

"10 mil is a lot of green backs, Killer. That's why you never get attached, because once you care, that's when they can come at you."

Munson says he needs Sawyer to move the money. His wife hired a PI and she's going to find it. Sawyer says no, and Munson points out that if Sawyer doesn't help him, the warden will get it all.

Episode 3x4, Every Man For Himself - Flashback Scene 4

Sawyer is taken to see the warden. "I have to be honest with you, Ford," the warden says. "When they first brought you here, I thought you were nothing more than a dumb hick. Now I know better. You're a dumb hick that knows how to steal."

"Can we just get this over with?" Sawyer asks.

Sawyer tells Agent Freeman that there is 10 million in a red bronco parked in a store quick facility in Sawgrass.

"Right off 411. Unit 24C. That's where your money is."

"As soon as the truck is recovered, your commission will be processed," Agent Freeman says. "Now, how would you like it?"

"Set up a new account, doesn't matter what bank, just make it in Albuquerque. Put it in the name of Clementine Phillips. And I want it so there is no way she can ever find out who the money is from."

"Congratulations, Ford," the warden says, "you just lied and cheated your way out of prison. You're a free man."

Episode 1x16, Outlaws - Flashback Scene 2

Sawyer comes into a hotel room carrying a woman. The light goes on and a man is sitting in a chair. He says, "Okay, this is really awkward, but if I don't say something now, things are liable to get downright embarrassing.

"Hibbs," Sawyer says. Sawyer sends the woman down to the bar to get a drink. When she's gone, Sawyer grabs Hibbs and pins him against the wall. "Now if I'm not mistaken," Sawyer says, "I'm fairly certain I said I'd kill you if I ever saw you again."

"That's why I'm here," Hibbs says, "to make things right. Besides, we both know you ain't the killing type." He pulls an envelope from his pocket and throws it on the table. "Here. I figure that makes us even for the Tampa job."

Sawyer wonders what could possibly make them even for the Tampa job and Hibbs says, "How about the known whereabouts of the man that ruined your life?" Hibbs says that one of the guys he's working with spoke of a man who was talking about his glory days. "Frank Duckett runs a shrimp truck in Sydney. Turns out he used to be quite the hustler. He ran the romance angle, hooked the wife and took the husband for all the money. Frank Duckett used to be named Frank Sawyer."

Episode 1x16, Outlaws - Flashback Scene 3

Sawyer walks along the docks in Sydney, then goes into a machine shop. The man behind the counter says he must be Hibbs' mate and gives Sawyer a gun. He says that Australia doesn't allow it's citizen to carry handguns, and Sawyer promises not to rat him out.

The man says, "I've been doing this for awhile and a man who buys a compact 357 with hollow point loads is not looking to scare or steal. He's looking to kill. You look a man in the eye and you point a gun at him, you find who you really are, mate. And should you find you're not a killer, there's no refund."

"Won't be a problem," Sawyer says.

Episode 1x16, Outlaws - Flashback Scene 4

Sawyer sits in a car, staring at a shrimp truck in the distance. He goes up to the truck and Frank asks if he wants shrimp with hot sauce or mild sauce. Hot, Sawyer answers. Frank talks as he makes the dish, saying that it's 50% off since Sawyer is American.

The gun shakes in Sawyer's hand. Frank brings the dish to the counter, but Sawyer is gone.

Sawyer is in a bar knocking back shots. Another American, who is drunk, begins to talk to him, and we see that it's Dr. Christian Shephard, Jack's father. "We're all suffering, but don't beat yourself up about it. It's fate. That's why the Red Sox will never win the damn series."

He tells Sawyer that he has a son who thinks that he hates him. "He thinks I feel betrayed by him," Christian says. "But what I really feel is gratitude and pride because of what he did to me."

Christian mentions the pay phone, saying he could pick up and call his son. Sawyer asks why he doesn't and Christian answers, "Because I am weak." He asks Sawyer if the business he has will ease his suffering and Sawyer says yes. "Then what are you doing here?"

Later, Sawyer is in the rain at the shrimp truck, watching Frank clean up.

Episode 1x16, Outlaws - Flashback Scene 5

Sawyer walks up to Frank and says, "Sawyer." Frank turns around and Sawyer shoots him. "I've got a letter for you, Dear Mr. Sawyer-"

"Who?" Frank asks as he's bleeding. Sawyer says that he used to go by the name of Sawyer and the man doesn't know what he's talking about. Then he says, "Tell Hibbs I would've paid."

Sawyer realizes that he's shot an innocent man. Just before he dies, Frank says, "It'll come back around."

Episode 1x23, Exodus Part 1 - Flashback Scene 1

Sawyer is in the Australian police station where we saw both him and Boone before. Now he is in trouble for head butting the Honorable Warren Truss, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Forestry.

Sawyer says the man head-butted him, but they say they have witnesses. They know who he is. He is James Ford and has a rap sheet which includes assault, wire fraud, identity theft, bank fraud, telemarketing, and more.

The cop slaps an Oceanic ticket down on the desk and says that Sawyer is being deported.
