Episode 2x13, The Long Con - Flashback Scene 3

Cassidy is in the shower while Sawyer brushes his teeth. She asks what the next play is, but doesn't like Sawyers answers. They've done all the small stuff already. She wants to do a big con, and Sawyer corrects her, saying, "It's called a long con."

Cassidy asks how a long con works and Sawyer says, "It works by getting someone to do something like it's their idea, but it's not their idea, it's your idea. But none of that matters because the one thing you need for the long con, we ain't got, money."

Cassidy says she has money, but Sawyer says it's not enough. She says she lied before when she said she didn't get money in the divorce. She has 600 grand.

"Well hell, baby," Sawyer says, "with that kind of money let's go find an island somewhere and sit on the beach drinking Mojitos."

"Sawyer, for the first time in my life, I'm actually happy. And it's not really about the action and the money, it's about doing this with you. Come on, one long con? And then the Mojitos.

Episode 2x13, The Long Con - Flashback Scene 4

Sawyer sits at a diner table alone and the waitress, Diane, takes his order. A man, Gordy, comes and sits across from Sawyer. "Tell me you got her," Gordy says.

"Yeah, I got her," Sawyer says.

"All 600 grand?"

"All 6," Sawyer says and looks uncomfortable.

"You fell for her. Oh, come on, you've go to be kidding me," Gordy says.

Sawyer says he's not going through with the con and Gordy is mad because he'd found her. Gordy says, "You're going to do it, because she doesn't know you one bit. You owe me. You don't want to pay me? I'll put one in your ear, James. You and your little friend, Cassidy."

Episode 2x13, The Long Con - Flashback Scene 5

Cassidy is in her home. A suitcase full of money sits on the dining room table. Sawyer comes in the front door and he is very upset. Cassidy asks what happened.

Sawyer points out the black car outside. He says, "His name is Gordy. He's my partner."

"Partner?" Cassidy says.

Sawyer tells Cassidy that he knew about the 600 grand and she was the long con. She gets upset and hits him and screams at him.

Sawyer says, "You can hate me all you want later, but right now you've got to listen to me. He's going to kill us because I told him I wasn't going to take your money."

Cassidy believes him and Sawyer looks outside at the car again. He starts putting the money into a duffle bag and tells Cassidy to go to Sioux City and to wait for him at a hotel. He gives her the duffle bag and says he'll be there in the morning.

Cassidy wants to pack a few things, but Sawyer says she has to go right now. "I love you," he tells her.

Episode 2x13, The Long Con - Flashback Scene 6

Cassidy leaves and Sawyer goes and gets in the passenger seat of the black car. He looks at the drivers seat, no one is there. He counts to 5 "Mississipi"s, then goes back in the house and pulls a duffle bag from under the table with the real 600 grand inside. As he walks out, he catches sight of a picture of him and Cassidy and turns it face down.

Episode 3x4, Every Man For Himself - Flashback Scene 1

Sawyer knocks a guy out in a boxing ring. A guy says, "All right, Ford, that's enough."

Sawyer helps the man up. They are in a prison. Sawyer and the other prisoner walk back through the jail and the man says, "Problem is, I was watching your hands."

"Problem is, you're old and dumb," Sawyer says and the man laughs.

Down below they see a prisoner getting beat up. "Who's the punching bag?" Sawyer asks.

"Just got here. His name's Munson. Rumor has it he ripped off the government for 10 mil, but they never found the money. If your buddy the warden didn't keep breaking up the fights, Munson would be a dead man."

Sawyer looks up at the warden. "That son of a bitch."

Later, Sawyer approaches Munson in the sewing room. "Do you get little mints on your pillow too? You've been here a week and you're already on tote bag duty? I've been here nine months and I'm still pushing trash. You think the warden is breaking up those fights because you're cute, Costanza? First step, butter you up, give you a plum job. Step two, warden will reach out to your wife and use her against you. Text book con."

Munson wants to know why Sawyer is telling him.

"Advice is free, Murgatroyd. Past nine months that warden has made my life a living hell. He gets that 10 mil that you ain't got, I just may have to kill myself."

The warden walks in, eating an apple.

"Well howdy, Warden."

The warden asks Munson if Sawyer is bothering him and Munson shakes his head.

"Don't think I can't extend your stay, Ford," the warden says. "All it takes is one call." He throws his apple on the ground and says to Sawyer, "How about you get that trash?"

Episode 3x4, Every Man For Himself - Flashback Scene 2

Sawyer watches Munson talk with his wife during visiting hours.

"Hello, Sawyer." Sawyer turns to see Cassidy.

"It's 'James Ford', and I know you know that because you got it right when you pressed charges."

"You're mad at me?" Cassidy says.

"Look where I am."

"Well what did you want me to do? You conned me."

"Something you want?"

She throws a picture of a baby in front of him.

"What's this?"

"This is your daughter."

"What do you want?"

"First I wanted you to know."

"Then what? Think I'm going to take one look at the picture and turn into Father Knows Best?"

"We're living in this little place near Albuquerque."

"Why are you telling me this?"

"I just thought you could write her a letter. Her name's Clementine."

"What the hell am I going to write? Dear, goo goo gaa gaa? She's a baby and she ain't mine."

"Sawyer, she is."

"I ain't got no daughter." He walks out.
