Walter Lloyd
Episode 1x14, Special - Flashback 1Michael and his pregnant girlfriend, Susan, are in a department store looking at cribs. Michael says that he is going to get a construction job to gain money for the baby. Susan asks about his art and Michael says that construction will be just for awhile. When Susan finishes law school and gets a fancy job, then he can go back to his art. Michael wants only the best for baby Walt.
"Walt, huh?" Susan asks. "Walter Lloyd," Susan says.
"Oh," says a laughing Michael, "so that's why you won't marry me. You want the baby to have your last name."
"You want me to agree to Walter or what?" she says, and they go on laughing and talking.
Amsterdam
Episode 1x14, Special - Flashback 2Michael plays with his baby boy. Susan tells Michael about a job opportunity she has in Amsterdam. She plans on taking it and she plans on taking Walt with her. He wants to know what is wrong with the law clinic here and she says, "This is a huge opportunity! You know I've always wanted to do international law."
She says that they had talked about spending time apart anyway and Michael agrees they have problems, but doesn't want her to take Walt away. He suggests they see a counselor. Susan looks down and Michael says, "Oh, man. You already took it, didn't you?"
She admits that she has and says that she'll be able to provide for Walt and give him everything he needs. "Except a father!" Michael says.
"Who do you think the court is going to side with?" she asks.
Brian Porter
Episode 1x14, Special - Flashback 3Michael is on a pay phone talking to Susan, asking to talk to Walt. She says that now is not a good time and Michael hears a man's voice in the background and asks who it is. Susan admits that it's Brian Porter.
"The guy who hired you?" Michael asks. She says yes, but it wasn't like that when she was hired. Michael says he's coming to Amsterdam.
"Michael," she says, "it's over between us."
"I'm not coming for you!" he shouts. "I'm coming for Walt! I'm getting my son back!" He slams the phone down.
Michael crosses the street and a car hits him.
Brian Adopt
Episode 1x14, Special - Flashback 4Michael is in the hospital, in a wheelchair, with his leg in a cast. He's drawing a detailed picture of a man covered in bandages. A nurse compliments the drawing and he says that it's for his son, who is turning two.
Susan comes into the hospital room and Michael is excited to see her, hoping she's brought Walt, but she hasn't. She came because she was concerned that she hadn't heard from him in over two months and had called a friend to find out why.
Susan pushes Michael's wheelchair around the hospital. Michael asks what she is doing here and she says that she wants to pay his medical expenses. Michael is happy, but then gets suspicious and asks her why.
Susan admits that she and Brian are getting married and moving to Italy. Brian wants to adopt Walt. Michael is very upset!
