This special shows us what has happened from season one until episode 19 of season two. We saw clips and had some additional narration.

We're looking from the beach out into a beautiful ocean. A few things drop into the water, then a whole tail section of a plane. We go under water and come up to see chaos. (Ep: 2x7, The Other 48 Days)
Can you survive on faith alone? Oceanic Flight 815 has crashed somewhere in the South Pacific. Two groups of passengers survive, separated on different sides of the same island.
Ana-Lucia saves young Emma. Later she asks Libby if she's a doctor and Libby says she's a clinical psychologist. Goodwin comes out and yells that someone is alive in the jungle. Ana-Lucia runs over and sees Bernard in a tree.
Goodwin starts a signal fire and Ana-Lucia finds out that Goodwin is in the Peace Corps.
It's nighttime, and the survivors are asleep.
The fight for survival will continue, for on this island there are the survivors and there are the Others.
There is an attack in the night and Libby starts screaming that the children are missing. Ana-Lucia kills one of the female attackers and finds a list of the survivors.
A few days later, Ana-Lucia and Goodwin are out on a hike and Ana-Lucia ends up killing him for being one of the Others. (Ep: 2x7, The Other 48 Days)
We switch to the other side of the island where the fuselage survivors build a raft.
The two camps of survivors are unknown to each other and on the other side of the island a search for help is set to launch.
Jin and Sun say a tearful goodbye to each other. The raft is launched.
And as hope for rescue rises along the shore, fellow survivors make an extraordinary discovery.
Locke and Sayid show Jack the hatch. Jack and Locke want to open it, but Sayid doesn't.
Locke tells Jack that he is a man of science while Locke is a man of faith. Locke doesn't think that any of this is coincidence. He believes the island brought them all here. Jack doesn't believe in destiny.
On the raft they shoot a flare gun to catch the attention of a nearby boat.
At the hatch they light dynamite to open it.
On the raft the boat comes over and they believe they are saved. The bearded man, Mr. Friendly, says that they are going to take Walt. Sawyer is shot and falls off the raft. Jin jumps in after him. Walt is taken and Michael is thrown into the water. The kidnappers blow up the raft and drive away with Walt. (Ep: 1x24, Exodus Part 2)
The beeping timer is heard and an eye ball opens. Without seeing Desmond's face, we see him go through his morning routine.
But on this island, the greatest test of faith lies deep beneath the surface.
An explosion comes from above the hatch and Desmond looks to see what happened and sees Jack and Locke peering down into the hatch.(Ep: 2x1, Man of Science, Man of Faith)
Later, Jack, Locke, and Kate are in the hatch with Desmond and the computer gets shot. Desmond panics.
Meanwhile, Cindy and Libby are on the beach and Jin washes up on shore.
Across the island, a discovery, as two camps make first contact.
In the hatch Jack makes Desmond tell his story. Desmond says he crashed on the island and Kelvin taught him how to type the code into the computer to save the world. Then Kelvin died and left Desmond all alone.
On what's left of the raft, Michael and Sawyer float back to the island.
In the hatch, Jack and Locke argue about what Desmond has told them and Desmond tells them to watch the Orientation Film.
Locke watches closely, Jack isn't so sure. (Ep: 2x3, Orientation)
