The Kiss
Jack finds Kate sitting by herself. He asks what she is doing and what happened in the hatch. She asks if Sawyer is okay and Jack says he is. She says she's sorry and he questions that."Yes," she yells. "I'm sorry that I am not as perfect as you. I'm sorry that I'm not as good."
"What's going on with you?" Jack asks.
"Just forget it," she says, and goes to walk out, but he grabs her.
She struggles to get away, but he won't let her. She begins to cry and he hugs her. "This place is crazy," she says.
They look at each other for a moment and then share a passionate kiss. Kate pulls away, looking like she wishes the kiss hadn't happened. She turns and runs. Jack calls after her.
Orientation
Locke, Michael, and Eko watch the Orientation film. Michael asks if they've been pushing the button every two hours and Locke says they have. Michael asks, "Don't you want to know why?"Locke says the film is pretty self-explanatory and when Michael asks about the missing pieces Locke says he thinks it's just a frame here and there, nothing important. Locke asks what Eko thought of the film and without saying a word, Eko gets up and walks out.
