Wayne?
Kate puts on a Patsy Cline record and talks to the unconscious Sawyer. She mashes up food and says he will get a kick out of her feeding him like a baby when he wakes up. She tells him she saw a horse.Sawyer whispers something and she asks if he's awake.
Suddenly Sawyer's eyes come open and he grabs her by the throat and says, "Why did you kill me?"Later, Jack and Locke return to the hatch to find the record needle at the end of the album, and the alarm going off. Locke runs to the computer room and Jack calls for Kate. He finds Sawyer face down on the floor.
Locke sees that the timer is at 23 seconds and hurries to type in the numbers. He stumbles on 23, but gets it in and presses "execute" just as the timer hits zero.
Jack struggles to lift Sawyer back into the bed. "What happened?" Locke asks.
"I don't know."
Locke says, "Well, you said-"
"I don't know, John!"
"Well, where's Kate?"
Horses Here?
Kate walks through the jungle. Charlie sees her and says, "Kate, hey. You missed the funeral." She says she was with Sawyer."Oh, right," he says. "A few of them came, the new people. Not her, the one who killed Shannon, that would have been a bit awkward. They seem to have had a rough time of it. It looks like they went bloody Lord of the Flies out there."
Charlie realizes that she hasn't been listening and she says, "Do you think there are horses here?" She tells him that she thinks she saw a horse in the jungle. She walks away.
Kate's Flashback - Caught
Kate is at the bus station at the ticket counter. She asks for a ticket to Tallahassee, one-way.The guy in line behind her talks to her about Tallahassee and how it's all strip malls and waffle houses. He keeps talking and guesses that she has family. She turns to look at him and it's the Marshal. She turns back, having not met him yet.
He says, "Hey, don't I know you?"
Kate gets suspicious and starts looking around the station. She spots a couple of undercover agents. To the Marshal she says, "No, I don't think so," and walks away.
The Marshal grabs her and says, "Don't run, Kate."
She punches him a couple of times and he cuffs her as the other agents run up. "I've got her," the Marshal says.
"Kate Austen, you're under arrest for murder.""I didn't do anything," Kate says.
"Uh-huh, yeah you did. Your mama gave you up, Kate."
Free Jin
Charlie plays his guitar and Jack comes up and asks if he's seen Kate. He says he has and she was acting "kind of barmy" and asking about horses on the island. She was on the path heading back to the caves.In the hatch, Locke uses a big set of bolt cutters to finally get the handcuff off of Jin's wrist. Jin shows Michael the handcuff on his way out and they smile at each other.
Michael examines a metal strip on the ceiling of the hatch. "What's up with the blast doors?" he asks Locke. Locke doesn't know and Michael says, "Yeah, like in case of an explosion, they come from the ceiling. That guy down here tell about those?"
"Desmond?" Locke says. "No, but he left a movie. You want to see it?"
Eko says, "I would like to see it too, if you don't mind."
"The more the merrier," Locke says.
