Ana-Lucia's Flashback - Psychiatrist
We are looking down the barrel of a gun. The gun fires several times, perforating a shooting target in the head and neck. Ana-Lucia lowers the gun and removes her protective goggles.Later, she is in the office of her psychiatrist, Matthew Reed. He asks how she's doing and she says the family with the screaming baby moved, but now it's too quiet. He asks if she and Danny are trying to work things out and she says he left and she's better off alone.
Her fingers drum on the arm of the chair. He asks how it felt to hold a gun again and she says very good. Then she says, "Did she say, you know, when I can come back to work?"
"She left the final determination up to me," Matthew says. He asks if she thinks she's ready, and she asks what he thinks. He hands her a badge.
Later, Ana-Lucia is at the LAPD. Someone says, "Welcome back to the force, Officer Cortez."
Don't Move! Nobody Move!
Shannon dies in Sayid's arms. He lowers her to the ground and pulls his gun on Ana-Lucia. Michael shouts, "Sayid, no!"Eko tackles Sayid and they wrestle. Ana-Lucia cold-cocks Sayid and grabs his gun.
Michael says, "Hey, hey!"
Ana-Lucia points the gun at Michael and yells, "Don't move! Nobody move!"
Ana-Lucia continues to yell and tells Eko to tie up Sayid, but he refuses. She points the gun at Libby and tells her to use the vines from the stretcher to tie up Sayid. Libby wants to get Sawyer back to camp, or he'll die. Ana-Lucia has really lost it and she uses Sayid's gun to fire a warning shot. "I know what I'm doing," she says.
Ana-Lucia's Flashback - Ana's Desk Job
Ana-Lucia knocks on the captain's door and she tells her to come in. The captain gives Ana-Lucia her assignment and Ana-Lucia says, "Evidence? You're putting me behind a desk?"The captain asks if there is a problem and Ana-Lucia says she wants to be in a car. The captain says, "You were in an officer involved shooting. No."
In Spanish, Ana-Lucia says, "You doing this because you're my captain? Or because you're my mother?"
"Both," the captain says.
Ana-Lucia begs to be put in the car, but the captain says that if she puts her in a car, everyone will know she pulled strings. If Ana-Lucia doesn't want to be treated like a daughter, she shouldn't ask for favors.
"Transfer me."
The captain says, "You don't get the transfer, but I'll give you the car. Happy?"
Officer Raggs comes in and says there is an important call for Ana-Lucia in the bullpen.
When he leaves the captain says, "They got you a cake. Act surprised."
Golf
Jack is filling a water bottle from a trough on the beach. Rose says it's nice to see him out of the hatch and that he needs more sunshine. She gives him some fruit and says it's good for the constitution. Jack likes the fruit and asks Rose where she got it, but she tells him not to speak with his mouth full.Something splashes into the trough and Jack pulls out a golf ball. Up the beach Hurley says, "Past the hanging tree, double or nothing."
"You sure?" Kate asks. Hurley thinks there is no way she can hit it that far, but Charlie says she's on steroids. "Double is 10,000 bucks."
"Oh, that's nothing to someone who's worth 150 million dollars," Charlie says. "He'll build you your own course, if you'd like."
"What's he talking about?" Kate asks.
Hurley says, "Ignore him, he's an idiot."
Kate swings and hits the ball, winning the bet. Jack walks up and says, "You hooked it. Try keeping your left arm straight."
She asks if he could do better and he tells her that anyone can hit a ball, golf is accuracy. They decide to play three holes to see who is better.
