Tailies - Sawyer's Struggle
Eko notices that Sawyer is struggling and tells Ana-Lucia that they need a break. She says, "Five minutes."Eko tells her that they have to cut inland and Ana-Lucia is startled, "Into the jungle? They said their people were on the beach."
Eko explains that the beach goes into a peninsula ahead and it may not be passable. She figures out that he's doing this "to get the cowboy back faster." She says, "You would risk our lives to help him?"
"It's the only way I know," he says.
Ana-Lucia says, "I liked you better when you weren't talking."
Charlie vs. Locke
Claire is happy that Aaron is still asleep and Locke says that swaddling works. Claire insists that Locke hold the baby, so he does. Charlie walks up, a little upset to see Locke with the baby. Claire tells Charlie what Locke taught her about swaddling. Charlie is not impressed.Charlie says that he came to watch the baby while Claire goes for her walk, and Locke, unsure what to do and not wanting to get caught in the middle, says he has to go. Once he leaves, Charlie stares at Claire. "What?" she says.
Tailies - Jungle Walk
The Tailies, Michael, Jin, and Sawyer walk carefully through the jungle. Libby steps on a twig, and Cindy shushes her. Jin says something in Korean and Sawyer answers that he's fine. Ana-Lucia tells them to shut up."What, they can't talk at all?" Michael asks.
"If he talks, he's going to get us all killed."
"What happened to you people?" Michael wants to know. "If you want us to take you to our camp and you want us to be quiet in the jungle, you need to tell me why."
Ana-Lucia says, "They came the first night that we got here. They took three of us. Nothing happened for two weeks, then they came back. They took nine more. They're smart, and they're animals, and they could be anywhere at any time. Now we're moving through the jungle, their jungle, just so you can save your little hick friend over here. And if you think that one gun and one bullet is going to stop them, think again. So shut your mouth and keep moving."
"They took my son," Michael says.
"They took a lot of things," Ana-Lucia says.
Boone's Grave
Sayid finds Shannon at Boone's grave. "I know what it is to lose someone you care deeply about.""You really think that this is all about Boone?" she asks. "I saw Walt, Sayid."
"Then why are we sitting at Boone's gave?"
Shannon gets up and he asks where she's going. "To find him."
Shannon's Flashback - Money
Shannon's roommate, Dominique, gives her a letter and says, "It finally came."Shannon wants Dominique to open it, but Dominique says, "You have been waiting six months for this letter, no way I'm opening it."
Shannon opens and reads the letter. "I got it!" she screams and they both jump around and scream.
The phone rings and Shannon gets off the phone to tell Dominique that her rent check bounced.
"But you're, like, rich," Dominique says.
Later, at her father's house, Shannon's stepmother, Sabrina, says that she would offer Shannon a drink but she has a meeting in 10 minutes. Shannon asks why her checks are bouncing and Sabrina says that's what happens when you make withdrawals and don't make deposits.
Shannon asks when she'll get the money from the will and Sabrina says that there is no will, they had a living trust. Everything went to Sabrina.
Shannon asks why her father would do that and Sabrina says that maybe he wanted Shannon to find her own way and that she's going to have to work.
Shannon says she can't work, she just got a prestigious internship. She won't make money for awhile, but she'll be working 16 hour days.
Sabrina says, "This week it's an internship. Last year, what was it? Interior design?"
Shannon asks for a loan but Sabrina says no because Shannon will never pay her back and then, "You'll hate yourself even more."
"I really want this, Sabrina. I can do this."
"I'm sorry, Shannon, you're on your own."
