Another jump then it continues, "...Danish industrialist and munitions magnate Alvar Hanso whose financial backing made their dream of a multi-purpose social science research facility a reality.

"You and your partner are currently located in Station 3, or the Swan, and will be for the next 540 days. Station 3 was originally constructed as a laboratory where scientists could work to understand the unique electromagnetic fluctuations emanating from this sector of the island.

"Not long after the experiments began, however, there was an incident. And since that time the following protocol has been observed: every 108 minutes the button must be pushed. From the moment the alarm sounds you will have four minutes to enter the code into the microcomputer processor-"

Another jump in the film, "...induction into the program. When the alarm sounds, either you or your partner must input the code. It is highly recommended that you and your partner take alternating shifts. In this manner you will stay as fresh and alert-

"...utmost importance that when the alarm sounds the code be entered correctly, and in a timely fashion. Do not attempt to use the computer-

"...for anything-

"Congratulations. Until your replacements arrive, the future of the project is in your hands. On behalf of the DeGroots, Alvar Hanso, and all of us at the Dharma Initiative, thank you. Namaste. And good luck."

Locke says, "We're going to need to watch that again."

Locke's Flashback - The Key

Locke is in a restaurant with Helen. She puts a small gift box on his plate because it is their six month anniversary. Locke says he didn't get her anything, but she doesn't mind, it only cost a buck.

Locke opens the box and finds a key. Helen says it's to her place, in case he's tired of knocking, but the condition is that when he goes home with her, he has to stay over. She'd followed him the previous night to the house that he goes to. "Is it your father's house?" she asks.

"Why would you follow me, Helen? Why would you do that?"

"Well you sneak off in the middle of the night. I just needed to know where you were going? I care about you, John."

She says that she wasted 20 years of her life being angry and she wanted to get over it, but couldn't do it alone. Locke helped her and now she wants to help him. "You just have to promise me that you're not going to go to that place anymore," she says and he promises.

Locke and the Film

Locke re-threads the film. Jack asks if he's going to watch it again and Locke says, "Aren't you?"

Flight 815

Ana-Lucia begins to come to and seems frightened to see the men. She asks who they are and they tell her that they crashed on a plane going from Sydney to Los Angeles. "Flight 815?" she asks.

"You were on it, too?" Sawyer says.

Michael says, "What? You were in the back? It broke off mid-air."

She says she woke up under water and made her way to shore. She's been out there by herself, making her way, hoping to find somebody, then yesterday "they" found her. Michael asks who "they" are and she says, "You tell me."

"Did you see a boy? Ten years old? They took my son."

"No, I'm sorry," she says and they introduce themselves.

Sawyer pulls the gun from his waistband. "Next time Shaft opens the cage he's going to get a surprising little howdy-doody."
