They've Been Warned
"So these Others," Sawyer says as they walk through the jungle, "think they're left over from the Dharma folk?""I don't know, man," Michael says.
"My theory," Sawyer says, "they're aliens. That's why they wear the fake beards, their heads, they're made of prothetic."
"Prosthetic, dude," Hurley says.
"You can't even spell," Sawyer says, "and now you're correcting me? What do you think, Freckles?"
"Keep moving, we're being followed," Kate says. She bends as if to tie her shoe. "Just keep smiling." Everyone else walks on. "There's at least two of them across the river. In about five seconds I'm going to turn the tables on them." She cocks her gun.
"Wait a second," Sawyer whispers.
"You in?" she asks.
She points her gun across the river and shoots. Sawyer shoots too and the rest of the party stops and those with guns shoot at the Others. There are two of them and they run for deeper cover, but one of them is shot and falls. The other runs.
"He's getting away," Kate yells. They run across the river and see that the man is dead. "We have to find the other one."
"No," Jack says.
"I'm going," Kate says.
"I said no!" Jack says.
"Are you crazy," Sawyer says. "If we let him go the Others will know we're coming."
"It doesn't matter if we catch him now!" Jack says. He looks at Michael. "They've already been warned."
"What do you mean warned?" Sawyer asks.
"Why don't you tell them, Michael?" Jack says.
Michael says he doesn't know what Jack is talking about.
"Stop lying!" Jack yells. "Tell them."
"Tell them what?" Michael asks.
Jack grabs his shirt and pushes him up against a tree. "What it is you're doing, Michael? Tell them! Tell them the truth!"
"It was the only way," Michael says. "They gave me a list."
"What list?" Jack asks.
"It had your names on it. They said I had to bring all four of you back or I'd never see my son again."
"Who are they?" Jack asks.
"It's like I said, they live in huts. I swear."
Jack takes Michael's gun.
"You let Henry go?" Kate asks.
"Did you kill them?" Hurley asks. "Ana-Lucia and Libby? Did you?""I had to," Michael says. "I couldn't find any other way. And Libby was a mistake. I didn't have time to think."
"But if you did have time," Hurley says, "you still would have killed her, right?"
"I'm sorry," Michael says. "You understand, I am sorry. It's my son!"
"I'm going back," Hurley says.
"No, Hurley," Jack says. "Hurley, you can't."
"We're all going to get killed and you knew it and you let us come anyway," Hurley says.
"It's too late to go back now, Hurley," Jack says. "We already caught them following us once. If they don't believe that we trust Michael, they'll kill us all! I'm sorry that I didn't say anything. But you have to know that I would never bring you out here if I didn't have a plan."
"What plan?" Sawyer asks.
The Others' Camp
Sayid goes through his prayers. Jin sees something in the binoculars and gets Sayid. It's the rocks with the hole in the center. "That's the rock Michael described," Sayid says, "we're here."Blow Up the Hatch
Charlie and Eko walk through the jungle. Charlie says, "Hurley showed me, it's around here somewhere. It's definitely around here somewhere.""We're running out of time," Eko says.
They find the dynamite and Eko unwraps it.
"Careful," Charlie says. "Dynamite is very unstable. Don't end up like Dr. Arzt."Eko very carefully takes the dynamite into the hatch. Charlie says, "What if we hurt them, or blow up the computer?"
"You can leave now, Charlie," Eko says.
"John, it's Charlie," Charlie yells by the door. "We can work this thing out, John. Eko is very upset, John. Let's open this door and we can talk about it."
"No," Locke says.
"John, Eko is going to blow open the blast door."
"Blow it up with what?" Locke asks.
"With dynamite from the old ship in the jungle."
Desmond says, "It will take an atom bomb, brother, tell him not to bother."
"You sure it will hold?" Locke asks.
"Aye, I'm sure," Desmond says.
