"Yeah, want to stay sharp," Michael whispers.
"Is this a secret?" Locke asks.
"Jack's asleep."
Michael checks his watch and Locke asks if he's got a date. "Old habit," Michael says.
Michael asks if he can have some bullets and drops some on the floor. Locke bends to get them and Michael hits him with the butt of the rifle.
Michael runs to the computer and pushes a bunch of buttons until it responds. Then he types in: You okay?
After a pause a response comes: ok. no time. come soon?
Michael types: I'm ready. Coming NOW. You said North. North WHERE?
The response: when they take me out, there's huge rocks with a big HOLE in the middle by the beach. you'll know when you see.
Michael types: It's gonna be okay. I'm coming. "I'm coming, Walt."
"Locke?" Michael hears Jack call from the other room. Michael quickly turns off the computer.
When Jack goes into the armory and sees Locke on the ground, Michael comes up behind him with the rifle pointed at him and says he's going after his son. Jack says he will go with him, but Michael says no and locks Jack in the armory with Locke.
Today
Michael stands outside the hatch looking at a small piece of note paper. He burns it and is startled by the hatch door opening.Jack walks out and says, "Hey, what are you doing out here?"
Michael hides the paper and says, "Nothing. Just getting some air."
"We should talk," Jack says, and goes back inside. Michael steps on the burning paper to put out the flame.
In the hatch, Hurley stares at the covered bodies of Ana-Lucia and Libby.
Jack says, "How many?"
Sawyer says, "Rifles and pistols, eleven total."
"That's it?" Jack says. Kate and Michael look on.
"That's it," Sawyer says. "In case you forgot, they took five of them right off us."
"How long would it take to get to their camp?" Jack asks.
"Leave now, move fast?" Michael says. "Middle of the night tomorrow. They have no idea I know where they are. They won't be expecting us. So we get the guns and we go, right now. Just the five of us."
"No, no," Jack says, "five's not enough. You said there's at least twenty of them, they've got our guns and we're not even sure if what you saw-"
"I know what I saw," Michael yells. "We take too many people they'll hear us coming. We're not taking a damn army across the island, Jack."
"Mike, you sure you're in the best position to make decisions for all of us right now?"
"You got a son, Jack?"
"They're dead!" Hurley yells. "Ana-Lucia and Libby are dead. I mean, we haven't even buried them yet."Jack walks over and puts his hand on Hurley's shoulder. "Me and you will take Libby, okay?"
Jack asks Kate and Sawyer to take Ana-Lucia. He tells Michael he should stay at the hatch. "We'll bury them tonight, then we'll figure out what's next."
Michael looks at the blood spot on the floor.

Michael comes closer. "You're Walt's old man," the man says.
"What?" Michael says.
Mr. Friendly walks up behind Michael with a few other people. Mr. Friendly and Michael struggle to get control of the rifle and it goes off a couple of times. Mr. Friendly gets it and Michael pulls out a pistol and runs. Some of those with Mr. Friendly shoot at Michael, but Mr. Friendly yells, "What are you doing? We need him."
