The Man Formally Known as Henry
Locke wiggles his toes. Jack says, "Good, now wiggle the other one."Locke asks if it's broken. Jack looks at the wound on Locke's leg and says, "Without an x-ray you're just going to have to deal with my best guess."
Kate comes over and says, "How you holding up?"
"Depends on Jack's best guess," Locke says."There's a small fracture," Jack says. "You're going to have to keep off of it for a couple of weeks." He tells Kate, "There's a wheelchair back at camp-"
"No!" Locke says.
"We took a pair of crutches from the fuselage when we moved down the beach," Kate says. Locke nods.
Once she's gone, Locke points out that non-Henry could have escaped during the lockdown. "He came back to help me. Why would he do that?"
"He didn't come back to help you, John," Jack says. "He came back because he thought his story was going to check out."
Sayid and Ana-Lucia with Non-Henry
"He was dead already," non-Henry says. "Four months ago, I was part of the search party. Henry Gale was hanging out of the basket, neck broken."Ana-Lucia starts to speak and Sayid silences her. "So he was already dead?"
"Yes."
"So you buried him and left a grave mark," Sayid says.
"Yes."
"You really should have checked his wallet before you did that," Sayid says. He pulls out a twenty. "I assume Henry Gale didn't have any paper in which to compose his thoughts, so he had to improvise."
Sayid reads from the bill, "Jennifer, well you were right, crossing the Pacific isn't easy. I owe you a beer. I'm hiking to one of the beaches to start a signal fire, but if you're reading this, I guess I didn't make it. I'm sorry. I love you, Jenny, always have and always will."
Sayid looks at non-Henry and says, "So tell me, how did Henry Gale write to his wife with a broken neck?"
Non-Henry says, "I didn't kill him. You don't understand."
"How did you know his wife's name?" Sayid asks. "Did you interrogate him?"
"Please, just listen," non-Henry says.
"How many of you are there?"
"Please," non-Henry says. "If I tell you about them you have no idea what he'll do."
"He?" Sayid says.
Ana-Lucia says, "You mean their leader. The guy with the beard."
"Him?" non-Henry says. "He's no one! Nothing!"
Sayid and non-Henry get into a yelling match, with Sayid asking how many of them there are and non-Henry saying, "You don't understand."
Sayid says, "Understand this," and stands up and trains a gun on non-Henry.
"Hey," Ana-Lucia says.
"He'll kill me!" non-Henry says.
"I'll kill you," Sayid says. "You have three seconds to answer my question. How many of you are there?"
Sayid counts to three and pulls the trigger. Ana-Lucia grabs his arm and the bullet hits the roof of the armory.
"What the hell's wrong with you?" Ana-Lucia says.
"What's going on? I heard a gun shot," Locke yells from the other room.
Jack comes into the armory. "What happened?"
"He's a liar," Sayid says to Ana-Lucia.
Ana-Lucia says, "It's fine. Just get him out of here."
Jack takes Sayid out. Locke continues to yell from his bed. Jack steps in and, in an annoyed tone, says, "I've got it covered, John."
Locke hits the bunk above him.
Non-Henry thanks Ana-Lucia and she tells him to shut up and then slams the armory door.
Charlie Helping Eko Build
Eko saws a tree limb. Charlie walks up, dragging the empty food pallet behind him. "I noticed you were building something and I thought maybe you could use this for whatever it is."Eko takes it and moves it aside, "That's very thoughtful of you, Charlie. Why don't you help me?"
"What are you making?" Charlie asks. Eko asks him to hold one end of the branch. "Is it a Starbucks?"
"Help me carry this load, please," Eko says.
"Are you going to tell me?" Charlie asks.
"Not right now," Eko says.
Dave Real?
Hurley walks through the jungle carrying the slipper. He spots a box of fish crackers and woofs them down. He turns to see Dave."You're not here!" Hurley yells.
Dave picks up a coconut and throws it, hitting Hurley in the stomach and causing him to double over. He picks up another, looks like he's going to throw it, then turns and runs through the jungle. Hurley chases him yelling, "Wait! Dave!" He comes out on a small cliff where he finds Charlie and Eko.
"Did either of you see a guy run through here...in a bathrobe...with a coconut?" Hurley asks.
"Saw a polar bear on roller blades with a mango," Charlie says."I did not see anything, Hurley," Eko says.
"Yeah, me neither," Hurley says.
