Locke's Flashback - Obits

Locke retrieves an engagement ring from his sock drawer, looks it over then goes into the kitchen. Smiling, he packs a picnic lunch. Helen comes in and asks what she did to deserve this.
"Can't a fella take his girl out for a picnic lunch just 'cause?" Locke asks.
She walks behind him and he checks out the ring again. "So where you taking me?" she asks.

"I'm not telling, so just quit asking."

She grabs the newspaper and her coffee and asks if he needs help. He tells her to just read her obituaries and he'll take care of everything.

"Don't knock the obits," she says, "it's the nicest part of the paper. No one ever says anything mean about people once they're dead."

Locke says he thought the funnies were the nicest part of the paper. He continues packing the picnic basket and Helen says, "John, what's your father's name? Is it Anthony? Anthony Cooper?"

"That's right," Locke says. He stops and looks at her.

"He's dead."

What's Done is Done

Locke stares at Henry. Jack says, "Draw it again! Draw another map to your balloon."

"I was joking," Henry says. "I was making a joke. There's nothing out there except my balloon. I was just frustrated. It was a stupid thing to say."

"She's already long gone anyway, Jack," Locke says.

Jack gives Locke an angry look and says, "So, what's done is done?"

"That's right," Locke says. Jack tells Locke to put Henry back in the armory and walks away.

"Why do you let him talk to you like that?" Henry asks Locke.

Locke gets up and roughly grabs Henry and pushes him into the armory.

Charlie Finds the Grave

In the pouring rain, Sayid and Ana-Lucia pace around the clearing.

"Maybe he's wrong," Ana-Lucia says. "We should search the other side of the cliff."

"We've been searching for three hours," Sayid says. "This balloon does not exist!" He yells for Charlie.

"Then why did he draw the map?" Ana-Lucia says.

Sayid says, "You told him you would protect him whether we found the balloon or not. You've given him two more days to stall, to figure how he can escape. We're done!" He yells for Charlie again.

They hear Charlie yell, "Over here, this way!"

They find Charlie standing in front of a mound with a stick cross on it. "He said he buried her, right?" Charlie says. "His wife."

Sayid and Ana-Lucia kneel to look at the cross. Ana-Lucia puts her palms out and says, "Why isn't it raining here?"

They look up and see a hot air balloon in the trees.

The Loop

Jack finds Hurley and asks if he's seen Ana-Lucia.

"She took off into the jungle with Charlie and Sayid yesterday," Hurley says.

"Yesterday! Did they say anything about where they were going?"

"Well, that would like assume that anyone actually tells me anything," Hurley says. "Maybe if I were in the loop I could be more helpful."

"There is no loop, Hurley," Jack says.

Claire runs over and says, "Excuse me, Jack," she holds Aaron up. "He's been hot and fussy. Do you want to have a look?"

"Sure," Jack says and takes the baby.

As Jack walks away Hurley says, "Loop, dude, loop."
Later, Jack tells Claire that Aaron's fever is completely gone. She says that he seems a bit distracted, but he says he is fine. As he leaves, Libby approaches and asks if the doctor is still in.

She shows him her hand where it was hurt from a sea urchin. He says it doesn't look infected but some Neosporin wouldn't hurt. She says that the current rate of exchange for Neosporin is about ten loads of laundry. They both look over at Sawyer who is playing poker with Kate and Hurley.
