Sun's Flashback - Doctor's Results
Sun and Jin are in a doctor's office. The doctor comes in and says hello. He asks Sun how her father is doing. She says he is doing well."I'm afraid the news is not good," Dr. Kim tells them. "The ultrasound showed advanced endometriosis, scar tissue, blocking the fallopian tubes. I'm afraid that, even with surgery, the chances of conceiving are impossible."
"Can't you fix this?" Jin says. "There must be something you can do."
The doctor says he can't do anything. Jin stares at the floor and says, "Did you know about this before we got married?"
"What?" Sun says.
"You must have had some idea," he says.
"Why would I keep something like this from you? Oh yeah," she says sarcastically, "I was trying to trap the son of a fisherman."Jin pushes a bunch of papers off the doctor's desk and stomps out.
Ana-Lucia Needs More Time
Ana-Lucia bangs on the armory door and says, "Coming out."Jack opens the door, then closes it behind her.
"He told me the same story he told you," she says.
Locke wants to know if she believes him and she says she doesn't know yet. She needs more time with him. She will be back tomorrow.
Find the Balloon
Ana-Lucia approaches Sayid, who is working with Charlie. She wants to talk to Sayid alone, but he says that she can say whatever she wants right there. "It's about the hatch," she says, trying to give him a clue."You mean the guy locked in the closet there?" Charlie says. "What about him?"
Ana-Lucia doesn't seem too happy that even Charlie knows about the guy in the hatch. She pulls out a map and hands it to Sayid. "It's to his balloon."
Sayid wants to know how she got it and she says that she asked nicely.
"Do Jack and Locke know about this?" he wants to know.
Ana-Lucia says, "Jack and Locke are a little too busy worrying about Locke and Jack.""Why come to me?" Sayid asks.
"Judging from what you did to his face," Ana-Lucia says, "that's what you want, too."
Sayid says that the balloon is at least a day's walk and Ana-Lucia says that they should get going then.
Sayid, Ana-Lucia, and Charlie follow the map through the jungle. They see the landmarks that are on the map and Sayid points out that a geographical touchstone does not mean Henry is leading them to his balloon.
"Maybe not," Ana-Lucia says, "but at least we're on the right island."They continue on and Charlie stops and turns around and says to Ana-Lucia, "You looking at my bum?"
"No," she says, "I'm looking at your gun. Maybe you should give the gun to somebody who knows how to use it."
"Maybe I will," Charlie says. "As I recall, the last time you had a gun you murdered someone."
Sayid stops them and Charlie goes to hand the gun to Ana-Lucia, but just before she takes it, he moves it around and hands it to Sayid. Sayid takes the gun and says, "We'll go as far as the base of the cliff and we'll camp there."
Two Pink Lines
Kate, holding the directions to the pregnancy test, sits with Sun. Sun asks how long it's supposed to take and Kate says up to two minutes.Kate wonders where Sawyer found the pregnancy test. Sun asks if Kate has ever taken one, and she says yes.
Sun says, "Thank you for waiting with me and not asking why you're here and not Jin."
"You're welcome," Kate says. "It's time."
Sun looks at the test - two pink lines. Kate says, "You're pregnant."
"Is it 100% sure?" Sun asks.
Kate says there is only one way to find out.
Jack looks at the pregnancy test. "These tests are pretty accurate."
"But it's impossible," Sun says.
"Oh, it's possible," Jack says. "You feeling queasy, lightheaded?"
"Please, Jack, this is private. Nobody can know."
Kate says, "You're not going to tell Jin?"
She says that in time she will.
"As complicated as Jin being the last one on the island to find out you spoke English?" Jack asks. "Sun, my advice, and it's just that because I'm the last person to ask about this, but, you should tell him. And when you do you should tell him everything, the whole truth. I'm going to get back to the hatch."
"You've been down there a lot," Kate says. "Everything okay?"
Jack says everything is fine and leaves. Kate asks if Sun is okay.
