"One of Them" Recap

Part 2

By Bonnie Covel, About.com

Rousseau's Catch

Rousseau says, "We're here." She uncovers a crossbow and arrows and picks them up.

"What is that for, Danielle?" Sayid asks.

A man's voice comes out of the jungle yelling for help. Sayid goes towards the voice, but Rousseau tells him to wait. He continues on and finds a man caught in one of Rousseau's net traps. She says, "Don't believe a word he says. He's one of them."

"I have no idea what she's talking about. She's crazy!" the man says.

"How long has he been up there?" Sayid asks and the man answers.

"Since last night. Please, just cut me down. My name is Henry Gale. I'm from Minnesota."

"He's lying," Rousseau says.

Sayid pulls out a knife and cuts Henry down. "You're making a serious mistake," Rousseau says. She prepares her crossbow and Henry sees and runs. She shoots him in the shoulder.

Sayid runs to Henry and says, "You could have killed him."

Rousseau says, "If I'd wanted to kill him, I would have killed him. He is one of them. Tie him up. You should take him to your doctor. He's no good to you dead. Talk to him, Sayid. As I recall that is what you do. But know this, he will lie, a long time. He will lie."
Sayid picks up Henry Gale to carry him back to camp.

Sayid's Flashback - Mr. Inman

Sayid, in handcuffs, is taken to see a Mr. Inman. Inman says, "I want to talk to you about your buddy Tariq. You're a man who values loyalty. Even doing a little translating for us, you feel like you're doing the wrong thing. I get that and I respect it."

Inman plays a video tape and says that Tariq personally supervised the use of sarin gas on this village. Sayid recognizes the village. "No discrimination," Inman says, "the entire marketplace, innocent women and children."

Sayid asks that the tape be turned off and Inman says, "Loyalty is a virtue. But unquestioning loyalty, I don't think that's you."

Sayid says that Tariq will never talk and Inman says that's why Sayid must make him talk and slides a toolbox to him.

Henry Gale in the Hatch

Sayid wakes Locke and shows him Henry Gale, who is laying on the floor in the hatch. He fills Locke in on what happened. Henry comes around and says that he and his wife crashed on the island four months ago. They were in a balloon, trying to cross the Pacific. His wife got sick three weeks ago and died. They had been staying in a cave off the beach.

Jack comes in and asks what's going on. Sayid says, "Rousseau trapped him in the jungle. She believes he's an Other."

"An other what?" Henry asks.

"You shot him with an arrow?" Jack asks.

Sayid says, "Do I have a bow?"

Jack kneels down to examine Henry and asks Sayid if he was just going to let him bleed to death. Sayid says he was trying to get answers while he was able to get them. Locke says they should let Jack treat him and then they can get their answers.

"Do not untie him," Sayid says.

Frog Search

Sawyer and Hurley continue to look for the loud frog. Sawyer keeps making fat jokes, including calling Hurley Barbar. Hurley finally gets fed up and says that at least people like him, and Sawyer can just find the frog by himself.

Sawyer begs Hurley to stay and help him, he even apologizes.
