Sawyer's Flashback - Necklace Con
Sawyer writes $1299.00 and $1399.99 on price tags attached to necklaces. Cassidy says the necklaces are junk, a five year old could tell that. Sawyer says they won't be looking at the necklaces they'll be looking at the price tags. "It's all in the details, Dimples.""What if we get caught?" Cassidy says.
"We ain't going to get caught." He puts a band-aid across his nose. "Anybody goes to the cops, the only thing they're going to remember is a guy that looks like he's been in a bar fight.
Later, Sawyer approaches two men at a gas station. He shows them a velvet carrying case full of necklaces and asks if they want to buy some.
One of the guys asks where Sawyer got them and he says, "Where do you think?"
The two men look unsure and talk amongst themselves. Cassidy walks over and asks how much. Sawyer says, "100 apiece."
Cassidy takes two and gives Sawyer the money and walks away. Sawyer starts to walk away and the guys tell him to wait. Cassidy and Sawyer share a smile.
Ana-Lucia Trustworthy?
Jack takes Sun's pulse and tells Jin that her pulse is strong. Jin takes Sun's hand.Jack goes to get water and Kate is there waiting for him. She says, "That bump on her head, do you think she fell or that someone hit her?"
"I don't know," Jack says.
"Jack, how well do you know Ana-Lucia?" Jack doesn't respond and Kate continues, "It's just, the Others, I was out there with you. I heard that man say that if we stayed away they'd leave us alone. And we've left them alone. So why would they attack us a few days later?"
"Well," Jack says, "if it wasn't them, then who was it?"
"Like I said, how well do you know Ana-Lucia?"
Jack walks away.
Jack walks with Ana-Lucia along the beach. She tells him that after what happened with Sun, more people are willing to join their army. Jack asks where she was during the rain storm.
"You think I had something to do with Sun getting grabbed? Now where would you get an idea like that?"
Claire runs over to tell Jack that Sun is awake.
Jack asks Sun about her head and then asks what she remembers, but she didn't see anything. Jin is very upset and yells, "Gun! Gun! Gun!"
Sawyer is a short distance away watching, and Kate approaches and asks what's going on.
Sawyer says, "It looks like the good folks of Island Town are about to form a posse, get themselves armed up. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if Jack didn't find himself that horse of yours and start leading the charge in a big white hat."
Kate and Ana-Lucia stare at each other. "The guns," Kate says. "This is all her play to get her hands on the guns. Locke. You need to go and tell him that they're coming?"
"I need to tell them?" Sawyer says.
"Sawyer, please," Kate says.
Sawyer's Flashback - Big Con
Cassidy is in the shower while Sawyer brushes his teeth. She asks what the next play is, but doesn't like Sawyer's answers. They've done all the small stuff already. She wants to do a big con, and Sawyer corrects her, saying, "It's called a long con."Cassidy asks how a long con works and Sawyer says, "It works by getting someone to ask you to do something like it's their idea, but it's not their idea, it's your idea. But none of that matters because the one thing you need for the long con, we ain't got, money."
Cassidy says she has money, but Sawyer says it's not enough. She says she lied before when she said she didn't get money in the divorce. She has 600 grand.
"Well hell, baby," Sawyer says, "with that kind of money let's go find an island somewhere and sit on the beach drinking Mojitos."
"Sawyer, for the first time in my life, I'm actually happy. And it's not really about the action and the money, it's about doing this with you. Come on, one long con? And then the Mojitos."
