Charlie, Not the Father
While most people are putting out the fire, Charlie picks up Aaron. Aaron starts to cry and Claire turns around and sees Charlie with him. She yells for help and Locke runs over. Charlie says he just wants to save him. Locke asks for the baby as others begin to gather around."Eko, tell them. Tell them what you told me, that the baby has to be baptized," Charlie says.
Eko says, "This is not the way."
Locke tells Charlie to give him the baby and Charlie says, "Who the hell are you, John? Aaron's not your responsibility. Where were you when he was born? Where were you when he was taken? You're not his father. You're not his family."
"Neither are you, Charlie," Locke points out.
"I have to do this," Charlie says. "I need to. I'm not going to hurt him."
"You're hurting me, Charlie," Claire says.
Locke takes Aaron from Charlie and gives him to Claire. Charlie tries to get to Claire and Locke punches him three times. Charlie goes down and everyone starts to leave.
Later, Jack comes over to look at Charlie's face and says he needs stitches. Charlie admits to starting the fire. Charlie swears that he didn't use drugs and promises that he won't start any more fires.
