Hurley + Libby

Kate helps Sawyer with physical therapy for his shoulder. Hurley sits nearby and asks Sawyer how well he got to know the Tailies. Sawyer asks why and Hurley asks about Libby. Sawyer makes fun of him and Hurley stomps off.

Sawyer sees Jack and Ana-Lucia come out of the jungle. He says to Kate, "Well what do we have here? It looks like Ana-Lucia is getting the 20 dollar tour. That's the third time I've seen them walking out of the jungle. What do you suppose they're doing out there?"

Kate pretends that it doesn't bother her and says, "Why don't you just do your exercises, Sawyer."

Save the Baby, Charlie

Charlie tries to tune his guitar, but it's not going well. Suddenly he hears Aaron crying and looks up to see that Aaron's cradle is in the ocean, riding the waves out to sea. Charlie yells for help, then jumps in the water and swims to the cradle. He brings the cradle back to shore and takes Aaron out. Aaron seems to be okay.

Charlie looks up and sees his mother and Claire on the beach, dressed and posed like the angels in a painting that was in his childhood home. Smiling, Charlie says, "Mom? Claire?"

Mrs. Pace and Claire talk at the same time. Mrs. Pace says, "He's in danger. You have to save him. The baby's in danger. You have to save him."

Claire says, "You have to save the baby. Charlie, only you can save him. The baby. You have to save the baby, Charlie."

The women keep repeating the message while we hear the sound of the Nigerian plane that Locke heard in his dream. There is a flash of light and a dove flies through the tableau and out to sea. Aaron starts to cry.

Hurley comes out of the jungle dressed similar to John the Baptist. "Charlie, what are you doing?" he asks.

Suddenly it's nighttime and Hurley is in his regular clothes. Charlie asks what's going on. Hurley says, "It's the middle of the night. What are you doing with the baby?"

Charlie stands in the surf, holding the baby. "I don't know," he says.

Up the beach Claire screams for help. "Somebody took my baby!"

"It's okay," Hurley yells. "We're over here!"

Claire comes running and takes the baby from Charlie. Charlie apologizes and says he doesn't know what happened. He had a bad dream. Claire slaps him across the face. Everyone that had gathered around leaves Charlie standing there alone.

The next day, Hurley and Sawyer play blackjack on the beach. Sawyer is irritated because Hurley is not catching on how to play. Libby walks by down the beach with some laundry and Sawyer says to Hurley, "Well, well, look who's off to the Laundromat." Sawyer tells Hurley to go on.

Hurley says he's waiting for his moment. Sawyer stands up and says, "Your moment is now, Hoss." Sawyer yells, "Hey Libby!" and then ducks inside his tent.

Libby looks over to Hurley, who looks ready to throw up and says, "Hey yourself." Hurley waves.

Are You Using?

Charlie waits outside the hatch and Locke emerges. Charlie asks to talk to him and asks if he heard what happened the previous night. "This whole thing was a big misunderstanding, John. I was sleepwalking. I don't know how or why-"

Locke interrupts to ask if there is something Charlie wants from him. Charlie wants him to speak with Claire. Locke asks if Charlie is using. Charlie points out that Kate saw a horse and people have seen Walt, but when it's Charlie it must be "the bloody drugs".

Locke says, "It's funny, you didn't answer my question."

Charlie tells Locke that he and Eko burned the plane, including the heroin and statues. "All of them?" Locke asks and Charlie looks him in the eye and says all of them.

Locke seems to believe him and says, "Trust is a hard thing to win back. Claire needs time. You should leave her and the baby alone for awhile."
