Jack's Flashback - I Came For Him
A man and his daughter sit at a table while Jack and his dad look over x-rays and whisper. The man says something in Italian and his daughter, Gabriela, says, "He says you don't need to talk in whispers. He knows he doesn't have a chance."Dr. Christian Shephard says, "Tell him I'm very sorry, but he's not a candidate for surgery. The way the tumor is situated on the spine, it's just not possible to remove it."
Gabriela translates and her father, Angelo says something back. "He said, 'I did not come all this way for you, sir,'" she says to Christian. "'I came for him'," she says about Jack.
She knows how Jack had fixed Sarah's back and how it was a miracle. She is looking for a miracle for her father, and so she has come to Jack. Jack agrees with his father on the risks and unlikelihood that the surgery would work, but Gabriela asks him to try.
Jack takes a few moments to look at the x-rays, then says, "I'll have to admit him in the next couple of weeks and run some tests."
Christian stares at Jack a moment, then leaves.
Michael Locks Jack and Locke in the Armory
Jack wakes in the bottom bunk of the hatch and gets out of bed. He looks around and doesn't see anyone. He calls for Locke and hears him moan. He goes to the moaning and finds Locke knocked out on the floor of the armory. "John?" Jack says.A gun cocks and Jack turns to see Michael pointing a rifle at him. Michael tells him to stay where he is. Michael is going get his son and nobody is going to stop him.
Jack says that there is another way to go about this and Michael tells Jack to get in the armory.
"You going to shoot me, Michael?"
"No," Michael says, "but I'll shoot your damn computer. That thing is not what you think it is anyway. You don't understand, man. You don't have any idea. Now get in there!""Michael, listen," Jack says, "we can do this together, okay? I'll come with you."
"No," Michael says, "I have to do it, now. I have to do it alone." Michael closes the vault door with Locke and Jack inside.
After awhile, Locke comes to and asks what happened. "Michael knocked you out. He went after Walt."
Jack wants to climb out the air vent, but Locke says he bolted it shut from the inside. "No point in changing the combination if you can get in through the air vent."
Jack asks why Locke let Michael into the armory and Locke says that Michael wanted a gun for shooting practice.
Locke asks how long he was out and Jack says 20 minutes. "We're on shift for the next four hours. There's nobody coming down here."
"Yeah," Jack says, "better hope Sawyer shows up to get his band-aid changed.
Kate's Banana
Sawyer snoozes in an airplane seat. Kate tosses a banana on his chest. He wakes up and says, "Did you just throw a banana at me?""Couldn't find any rocks," Kate says.
"There are nicer ways to wake a man up, Freckles," Sawyer says.
Kate says it's time to get his bandage changed. He asks for help up and when she helps him, they stand very close to each other while he says a raspy, "Thank you."
Howdy, Boys
Kate and Sawyer come into the hatch and Sawyer says the place creeps him out. Kate says he'll get used to it. She calls for Jack and hears a faint banging. They realize that Jack and Locke are in the armory.The timer alarm goes off and Kate goes to take care of the computer while Sawyer opens the safe with the numbers Locke yells through the door. "Howdy, boys," Sawyer says as he opens the door.
Jack loads a rifle and Locke asks what he's doing. Jack says he's going after Michael and they fill Sawyer in on what happened. Sawyer goes into the vault and gets a gun. Jack asks what he's doing and Sawyer says, "What does it look like? I'm coming with you."
"You're still on antibiotics," Jack says.
Sawyer says, "It's a good thing I'm traveling with my doctor, then."
