She is used to playing high-power roles and her nickname in Korea is "Woman Warrior". The role of Kate was the type of role she was used to playing, but when she auditioned, the Lost creators didn't feel she was right for the role. They were so impressed with her, however, that they created a new roll especially for her.
In the season 2 finale, Live Together, Die Alone, Sun, Jin, and Sayid were on the boat. Yunjin says that they all got sun and wind burned and her forehead began to peel after three days out there, but she got to learn to turn the boat wheel, keep it steady, and operate the boat a little. She was especially proud of herself for not getting sea sick.
Yunjin was the Goodwill Ambassador for the 2002 World Cup in Japan and Korea, representing Korea.
She made #98 on Maxim's "hot 100" list of 2006.
