Matthew Fox Gets A Raise

Friday August 15, 2008
It's official, Matthew Fox (Jack) has secured a deal to make $225,000 an episode, raised from his measly $150,000 per episode.

No word yet on whether the same holds true for Evangeline Lilly (Kate). Both stars were in negotiations and as the rest of the cast found out, many of them began to negotiate as well.

At first this seemed like a lot to me. I mean, $225,000 for a week's work? But then I heard that the Desperate Housewives are making $225,000 per episode and I say give the man another raise!

I love those ladies of Wisteria Lane, but Lost is very demanding!

As long as the rest of the cast can get comperable raises, I feel they should get them. This cast has worked long and hard for “Lost” to make it the awesome show that it is, and this past season was a perfect example. Michael Emerson, especially, should get a raise just for his performance alone. But all in all, I would say, give the cast a long overdue raise, they deserve it!

Congratulations to Matthew Fox - well deserved. I, too, hope others fare well. Consider what actors are guaranteed for a 90 minute movie role, i.e. $5 - 20million; or sports figures appearing in a dozen games -the $225,000 can’t compare. Anyone remember the “Friends” cast getting $1Million per episode for a few minues of saphic air time? Our cast can act! and do so under conditions other actors never have to face. Ours is the best show ever of all time!!!

I believe that whether or not Fox’s salary is deserved should not be such an opinionated thing amongst people who really don’t know much about Fox, how hard he really works, and so on. Most of the Lost actors are probably happy with their pay, in comparison to their real lack of success before Lost.
