The Other Person on the Plane

Saturday May 17, 2008
On her way back to where the Oceanic Six sat in the cargo area of the plane, Ms. Decker acknowledged someone sitting close to the cockpit (Ep: 4x12, There's No Place Like Home Part 1). Was this a crew member, or someone from the island that we already know?

At first I thought maybe it was Ben, but Sayid was surprised that Ben was off the island, so it couldn't have been him. I think it will be revealed later in the series. The reasons I don't think it's a crew member are:

  1. Ms. Decker said hi to him and it seems she would have already exchanged pleasantries with the crew.
  2. The producers had her acknowledge this person, but then didn't show this person. Many people missed that she'd even acknowledged anyone, but after the big reveal, if viewers go back and watch this scene, then they would likely catch it.

Check out this screen capture from Lost Easter Eggs.

Are you talking about the guy on the right in the jumpseat? His profile looks like Christian’s. Maybe he was “sitting” in for Jacob. Perhaps Jacob was giving the crew orders?

Just a thought. :)

Yep, that’s the one. I thought he looked like Christian too. The crew knows that something is off with the whole situation, the co-pilot was worried about bad mojo.

I think it’s widmore! Maybee he cut some kind of deal with the losties… He would be someone who could arrange an airplane and everything, I mean with every other person mrs. decker would have interacted diffrent.

I’ve been reading a bit and what i’ve read is that the producer have said that there are clues as to the final story in the pilot. As I said time and time again, I still think that the whole Lost plot will end up in some sort of cycle, loop. We will see the crash again in the last episode in Season 6.

Anyone rember the Baton Ben had in desert, and the one he gave to Locke. Here’s a pilot screencap: http://bp2.blogger.com/_RrObyQ3XzcY/SC7TCGk2aNI/AAAAAAAAYrY/rW0ovakV45E/s1600-h/Pilot_a.jpg

Recognize it?

What if Jack has been stuck in a loop and that’s why he’s so good at leading the others? Could Hurley seeing the numbers in the Car be the beginning of his loop?

And that makes me think, ahaaa, Widmore and Ben cannot kill each other…

What do you think?

(5) Travis says:

Could this figure possibly be Desmond hitching a ride as well. Technically he’s not part of the Oceanic Six.

(6) Bruce says:

I agree with the loop….Stephen King did that in his novel about the Gunslinger. The challenge with a series like this is that it won’t want a “traditional” ending.

(7) Anne says:

My hope is that it is Desmond. He wouldn’t fit into the “story” of the Oceanic 6, but still could have been rescued and brought back with them.

I also think it looks like Locke…maybe he’s more involved than we think.

I think we are all getting a little paranoid. I just watched it again and if you wait until the Losties get off the plane you see a guy in a green jump suit with headphone around his neck still on the plane standing behind Kate. He has a similar profile to the mystery man in the jump suit. In fact I am almost positive that it is the same guy. Check it out, what do you guys think?

@bryan

yeah your right, the producers can show some mysterious stuff and everybody is breaking there heads over it when it is just not important ^^.
