Axe in the Freighter

Whoa! Did you see the axe sticking out of the freighter? Look at this screen capture to see for yourself. Yikes! I wonder what that's about. Did Michael do it as a warning when no one was around?
Also, less shocking, but still interesting, is that when the men were looking at where Regina went overboard, Michael was there looking too (screen capture).

Hmmmm, the words below the axe say “Fire Station No. 2″ and it IS a fire axe, so maybe it belongs there? The place where th axe is embedded looks more like a purpose-made “holster” than it does like a gash.
Yeah, I don’t know. Someone else said that too. To me it looks like there is damage around the axe, but I don’t know.
I saw the axe again in ‘Meet Kevin Johnson’ and you guys were right, the axe is held there with brackets and it belongs there. Oh well.
